Transmission issues...
Anyone else having trouble with their standard transmission? Mine's goin in to get an appointment made on Monday. I've got an '08 2door with the 6-speed manaul. Its got just a little over 4200 miles on it, and just last week its started poppin outta first gear on me when I got to pull out of places... The first time I thought maybe I didn't have it in gear, but its done it 6 times in 3 days for me, and twice in 2 days for my boyfriend.
I know, I know, learn how to drive it, problem is, this is my 6th vehicle with a standard transmission, so it's not like I don't know what I'm doin, and it didn't start doin it till this week... If it was a problem I'd been havin since I bought it in October, maybe I'd think it was me, but I'm pretty sure it isn't... Anyone got any ideas what the problem may be?

Yea it seems a lot of people had this problem, which mostly lies with the inner shift boot, some people trim it down so it doesnt get in the way, and some people remove it all together. Thats probably what the dealer will do for you too. When its cold the inner boot will freeze up and get hard, and when you put it into gear it will resist and push it back up. When your jeep warms up the problem might go away.

Thanks for the reply, that explains my issues with it not wantin to go into gear when its been so cold here in western PA... I'll make the dealership fix it... I hate the fact that my brand new Jeep has given me more issues in 4 months then my 8 year old Eclipse gave me in 4 years....

Yeah, its my first Jeep... I've always wanted one, but I was determined to buy an 08 or 09 Eclipse, but after 5 salesmen at 3 different dealerships pissed me off, I said to hell with a Mitsu and went and got the Jeep... for the first 3 weeks, I was thinkin I'd made a mistake, then I decided I loved it... I miss havin a "sports" car, but I do love the 4wheel drive and the looks I get... Now if I had my subs installed, I'd be a lot happier...
