Torn seat

My front seat developed a tear so I took it to the dealer to see if it could be fixed under warranty. I kind of doubt it but what the heck. My warranty for things like that was almost up with just 40 miles left. They took some pics to send them somewhere to get approval, and Iím supposed to know in a couple of days Pics were taken of the mileage too. Has anyone else had their seat tear in the same spot as mine?

Hereís the tear and the other is where the upholstery unhooked from the bottom of the seat. It has been unhooked that way for over a year.


There isnít much padding in the tear area.

I think that you have 935 miles left on the warranty
Get everything you can done or at least put on record soon!

Did the rips start after you realized you locked yourself inside your jeep?


I know its so old haha

I bet you could get seat covers, or sew it back up if its not under warentee (SP?)

I thought it was up at 35,0000 miles. I just went to look at the warranty but canít find it. So itís actually 36,000 instead? Thatís great news cause I do have one other issue that needs to be fixed. Twice though they said they couldnít replicate the problem. Iím starting to hate that word, replicate. Thanks.

I pretty sure it's 36k, 12k per year.
If there is a problem that has been documented by the service dept. and not resolved, it can sometimes be covered after the expiration of the warranty by getting it approved through Chrysler.
Make sure that any possible issues are documented prior to the expiration.

I've got a torn seat too...seems that they forgot to add the padding by the seat back hinge.

The pic policy is new, according to the service manager where I took my Jeep.

Did they tell you what they ordered and will replace? Mine is getting a new seat bottom(foam) and a new seat bottom cover.

I havenít heard back from them yet. I hope they fix it because itís going to get a lot worse quick. Glad to here that theyíre going to be fixing your seat. Hope I have the same luck.

Has your dealer been good so far?

I took mine to the local dealer(I didn't buy it there, hate the salesmen) If I had a fat *ss, they probably wouldn't have covered it. They pretty much told me that.(fair wear & tear)

I hope they cover yours too, that puppy is going to get worse...fast
