???? for TJ /JK Rubicon owners

Is it true the F/R lockers can only be activated in 4 Lo? If so is it poss. to rewire so they can operate in 4 H as well?

It is definitely true for the TJ. I can't say for sure on the JK, but I doubt it would be any different. There is a fix for the TJ, but I haven't seen anything for the JK Rubi... yet

I read an article on www.stu-offroad.com about fooling the computer. Jumpers were used behind the switches. Wouldn't it be easier to catch the wire coming out of the transfer case and use a switch on the dash to mimic the state of 4LO?

I'm not sure how that would be easier... there's like 2 wires behind the dash to change.

Here's the instructions (for TJ)

That said, it may be a simple mod, but I still have yet to do it to mine

I know this is a popular mod for the TJ Rubicon, but just out of curiosity, when would you want the axles locked in 4hi?

Sand for me, mud for others. My JK probably wont even make it up competition hill without this mod. You need momentum to get up there and if the lockers are not on, no go to the top.
You need those wheels spinning to move.

I always forget about sand. Not much of that around here.

Did you work on this today? I suspect it's going to be much harder on the JK.

I did this mod on my 2004 but I haven't done anything about it on my JK since the FSM is not yet available. I believe the switches (i.e. locker switch, sway bar switch, etc.) are one closed module on the JK, not separate switches like the TJ so you will have to decipher the wire colors in the connector.

The whole dang switch might just be inputs to the CAN bus and the ECM or something does the actual signaling to the lockers.

Here's the instructions (for TJ)
http://www.rockcrawler.com/techrepor...pass/index.asp

In these instructions it states that by rewiring the switch you are fooling the computer into thinking that the x-fere case is in 4lo. If that is the case, does the same thing go for the swaybar disconnect.
