I went through this same scenario just a couple weeks ago...thought about sticking with my stock 17s, but decided that spacers wasn't going to be the best option for me. I knew I would want to upgrade the wheels sooner than later, so I went ahead and bought a set to go with the new shoes. I ended up selling my 17s for the same price as I bought my XD Addicts for. The wheels have 4.5" of BS which allowed me to run 295/70/17s with no lift. As I said up top, the only rubbing I get is at full lock in reverse. Basically, I have to try to get them to rub. IMO grab a set of aftermarket wheels and sell the stock 17s to make up the difference.
here's the only pic I have right now to give you and idea of how it sits:

Thanks for clearing it up a little. I guess I'll save for some wheels as well.

Okay. Lets say my wheel has a BS of 5.5" i believe. I should be able to run the 295/70/17 without any issues correct.

I went from 255/70/18 to 275/65/18 and they rub. Not much but I noticed the other day

not correct. without the use of spacers, 5.5" of backspacing will actually be tucked under the fender more (closer to your suspension components), as opposed to the reccomended 4.5" of BS

Okay, i got it now. I want a lower number of backspacing. Like golf, the lower the better?
