I'm planning on getting some front and rear bumpers for my 2014 Rubicon soon. I am planning on keeping the jeep pretty much stock as far as tire size. I will likely install a 1 3/4" leveling block up front. If and it's a big if I was to get bigger tires when these wear out I would go with the same width but go with a 33 instead of a 32 or just one size up. I'm kind of reluctant at the idea because of power loss but shall I bother with a rear tire carrier for the aftermarket bumper I go with or just not bother considering there is a good likelihood it will remain stock??? Thanks....

If all you plan is a 33 inch in the future, I think the stock carrier will work fine. If you off road a lot, then the stock carrier on a 35 can be troublesome if the tire is not mounted securely and kept from bouncing and putting additional strain on the carrier. I have seen a couple fail, but many just use the stock carrier and some wheel snubbers like those from Daystar. One forum member even put a large bolt in the bumper spaced just to carry some of the additional tire load...original and simple solution.

I'm looking at the Warn Elite series bumpers. In the unlikely event that I did decide to go with say 35s I could always just add the tire carrier portion.

I have a 33 on the stock carrier with no problems.
