So, I will ahve $36K in a pretty loaded (missin leather and nav, but really did not want those) 2014 Unlimited Rubicon.
My dealer emailed me today and said 2014 ordering is still locked whatever the hell that means!

Pulled the trigger!

Thanks all for the replies. After a lot of searching I found what I wanted, ended up with a 2013 JKU Dune colored with Connectivity and Sport S package( power windows ) with auto tranny. Pretty happy with the deal I got, originally they wanted 32,500 ended up getting them down to 30,100 and then made sure they waived the ridiculous "admin and documentation fee". Wanting that certain color, and the fact that jeeps sell here in NC like crazy makes it hard to negotiate with any leverage, so I'm feeling pretty good about it.

Thanks to all for the info, it helped me know what I was looking for, sounds like some of you found awesome deals out there, thats great . Some hints for others, use truecar.com to negotiate the price as a starting point, email as many dealers as you can and negotiate them against each other before you even walk in the door, have them waive all those horrible fees, have a blast driving home!

Nice deal......Jeep looks awesome and most important is you like what you have.

I went through USAA car buing program, it's a great place to start if you have USAA bank

I agree with you in that you have to play the dealership in order to get the best deal. It's time consuming but it's $$ saved

Thanks Totally stock now, going to do stuff in increments. First is the CB, Rollbar handles, gotta do something about the damn stereo... Man I love Jeeps, but the stock system is utter crap. ( Its just the basic connectivity package )

Probably look into a 3.5" lift and 33s with black wheels towards the end of the year. Then the front bumper and winch. Really can't wait, gonna be a fun journey. Looking into going to Uwharrie sometime soon, hopefully I can find some peeps, seems to be pretty active offroading community just doing some searching around.

Congrats and sweet deal! I almost ordered Dune, but didn't because I could not find any model Wrangler in my area to see the color I'm person. So I ordered white which was what my YJ was.

With used 2007 Jeeps still bringing +/- $20k, new Jeeps for $30k are the smart choice if you can write the check. I'm shopping for a used 4 door but can't see spending so much for something that has 80,000 miles.

You know, this was exactly my thoughts. I initially went looking for a TJ around '09 - 10, but I was shocked by the prices. After reading some good things about the new(ish) 3.6 engine I couldn't see how it would make sense for me to not get a new jeep. Plus I want to do all the mods myself so that works out here too

I am a jeep salesman at a very big and honest dealership mostly we sell wranglers at msrp because there are absolutly no incentives on them no rebates from Chrysler or anything...If you can get it for invoice that is a good deal but there is holdback too. Usually under $1000 but thats what the dealership makes selling the car if you are looking at a sport the msrp and invoice are within 500-700 bucks if your looking at a Sahara within 1000-1500 all depending on how expensive the Jeep is and the options it comes with ie..more options more markup

On a 2013 Rubicon the MSRP of 42,120 has an invoice price$39,461. The Friends and Family Price is $39,141 and the employee price is $37,563. The Hold Back on this vehicle is $1234.00. Vehicle was custom ordered and sold for $500.00 below the invoice $38,961.00

Hope this helps you out. This was oin a rubicon ordered in April and delivered in May.
