For those with RIPP + 5.38's -- too much gear?

I've noticed that I have too much gear with 5.38's and the RIPP super charger. Anyone else notice this?

Thinking about going down to 4.56's (I have Ford 9" axles going in since I blew up front locker and my rear axle housing is leaking). I have a 6 speed. 1st and 2nd are kind of pointless unless I want to do a burnout... Thinking about just putting in an Atlas transfer case to take care offroad 1st/2nd with 4.56's and big meat.4.56
s will also put me much better at 65 mph RPM wise than I'm at now -- I think the 5.38's and RIPP would be much more ideal if I was running 40-42's.

Probably woulda been OK, if it had been an auto tranny-

I don't have a RIPP, but the 5.38s are a phenominal addition, with the stock 3.8L-and my auto-

If this helps, I have a 5.7 VVT Hemi with the 545rfe auto, 4.88's and 37's. Final drive ratio is 0.67 X 4.88 = 3.27. The combination is great on the road and off road too, but 5.13's would be a great, probably better, choice too. 5.13 final drive ratio would be 0.67 X 5.13 = 3.44, which I think would be ideal for my Jeep.

So, iirc, you have 0.83 X 5.38 = 4.47 final drive ratio now. 4.56's would give you a final drive ratio of 0.83 X 4.56 = 3.78. 4,88's would give you 0.83 X 4.88 = 4.05

The Hemi has more low end torque, and both 4.56's and 4.88's provide more gearing, beneficial for the 3.8+Ripp. With your 38's I think I'd go 4.88's but I think 4.56's would be ok too, especially if you do a lot of highway driving.
