Thinking about adding a lift and spacers, need advice

Looking to modify my jeep a little. To make an all round good tool to get me where i need to go, little street, little mud and a little rock. Nothing too extreem.

I'm thinking of putting a lift, but not sure how high. Was thinking 3 inch. I don't want to make my current tires look small and out of proportion, nor do i want to have to worry about breaking other components. What would you recomend?

What is your opinion on spacers. I am rubbing a little with my current tire size.

If you've put a 3inch lift and have the same tire size as i, would you be able to send me pics so i can see what it looks like?

Thank you for your help, look forward to your advice.

What size tires? You really can't go wrong with 3". In fact, put some high clearance fenders or even the Bushwhacker "Flat" flares and you could clear 35’s no problem. My 35's look lost! LOL

So, you don't want to run a bigger tire than what your running now? If that's the case a simple 1" body or 2" buget boost will be fine with stock tires. A 3" lift with stock tires is too much. People are running 35's and 37's with that much lift on a JK. Now if you plan on going up in tire size in the future, I would go with a 2.5" or 3" lift now and just wait till tires need to be replaced.

What model do you have and what is your current size tire? I can post pics of my recent lift which I haven't upsized tires yet to give you an idea.

Please fill out your vehicle profile or tell us some more info about your JK. That would help us give you better informed opinions.

I have the RK 2.5 stock mod lift, so 2.5 in the rear and 3.5 in the front. This pic doesn't have the winch installed yet, but even with it put on, still looks the same. Bilstein 5100 shocks, no sagging. Really could use some 33's, but the 32's are gonna be ok for the time being. Go any taller and you'll def need tires for sure.

3" will allow you to put some serious size under your JK. The fender wells are very large.
Rock Krawler 2.5" Max Travel and 37's (before I trimmed the fenders & pinch seam):

Looks tight from a flex perspective, how does it do on the trail?

After I trimmed the pinch seams and rock rails about 2.5", works fine on the trails. Take a look at this pic, I had to crawl on top of his 39.5" tire to stuff my 37's into the fender well. RK lifts have some serious flex!

Here's mine with an RK 2.5 max travel lift and 35's. From what I can tell of your question, you're going to want to just get a spacer lift. If you have the cash to throw around, however, I absolutely recommend getting a full lift kit and doing it right.

I did a 3.5" RK lift on 37s - very happy I was out crawling around Northwest OHV testing is all out. I need to dial in the bump stops - even with the
GenRight rear fenders I get some rubbing with the old stock stops.
