Don't buy directly from TF. Buy from Jason or one of the other vendors. He has better customer service than TF!

Interested in hearing what you thought about it. Debating getting one, but haven't quite decided between this and a swing tire mount.

I have it. I just put it on last weekend, and I love it. I have a 37" Cooper Discoverer STT that weighs 83#, and my steel wheel that probably weighs 20# hanging off the back. It looks great and does what I want it to. I bought the accessory mount for my HiLift, CB antenna, and RotoPax.

The nice thing about this setup is that you can run just about any bumper you want!

As opposed to any number of rear bumper/tire carrier/hitch options in the same price range (~$150). The TF setup is nice, but overpriced IMO.

I apologize for my posts.

The TF carrier is a well engineered piece of kit.

Can't go wrong with it.

I said its overpriced IMO (in my opinion).
Look you and I had an issue (you posting information that wasn't factually accurate, followed by thread crapping....I was hoping we could get past that, but evidently not.

Enlighten me, a newbie to the Jeep world. I've gone with new Gendex bumpers front and back, almost done painting and installing. I like their rear wheel/tire carrier, also considering orfabs option. Both seem to work off the hinges and are able to accomodate additional storage. What am I missing with this Tereflex system and why consider it over these two or a rear bumper which has a rear tire assembly?

TF makes great quality products and have a fantastic reputation in the industry.

This system is pricey, but it is a great alternative for those that don't want a 200lb rear bumper (some people care about fuel efficiency and simply don't need a bunch of armor or heavy bumper), yet want to use oversized tires ....the weight of which can warp the tailgate or even break the stock tire carrier. Smittybilt and Bestop also have recent entries into this market that seem to be well reviewed..cheaper, but just don't seem as nice as the TF entry.

It's just my opinion that it's overpriced considering what it is, and for slightly more you can get a high quality full bumper/tire carrier/hitch setup from Smittybilt, ACE Engineering, JCR Offroad, Warn, etc.
