Sure, you can put one on there, don't know how tough it is, etc...

Now if you are talking the factory electronic one, I don't know for sure if you can upgrade aftermarket...I ASSUME that you can, but I don't know if that would break the bank or not, sure it is a lot for expensive then the disconnects you could buy from quadratec, etc...

I have the JKS Quicker Disconnects on my X- cost around $130 for the pair. Took less than 30 minutes to install them. Now when I go off-road, it takes me just a couple minutes to disconnect. And re-connecting is very simple afterwards as well.

Assuming your contemplating the OEM e-disconnect... they are without a doubt the biggest waste of money you can dump into a Jeep. I wouldn't buy an OEM diso if they were $200. There's no shortage of horror stories about them breaking, and the truth is that they aren't cheap. If disconnecting the SB's manually was a chore, then I could possibly see it. As long as you're on flat ground (or at least close), they are SOOOO incredibly easy to do with a socket and a crescent. I even ordered a set of pinned disco's and cancelled after I r&r'd the stock ones before a trip.

I've heard people gripe about how much of a PITA it is to do when muddy, etc. Just drive to your car wash and connect them there. I've driven up to 1,000 miles with my SB's disco'd and as long as you drive normal, there's zero issue.

Spend the money elsewhere or just get a set of $100 quick disco's if you insist on the mod.

I'm with you (partly)... I manually disco'd mine stock a number of times, and really didn't think it was a big deal. Then the wife bought me the JKS disco's for Xmas, and what a huge difference. I didn't really think removing them stock was that big of a deal. But once you try the JKS's, you never want to go back- simple and fast.

I would disagree. A flip of a switch beats getting under it any day. O and i own an X and manually disconnect mine too. There isnt always level ground around either...

THey break because people lift and leave the stock links and then it binds during flex and ends up breaking. I personally know and wheel with a guy on 37" tires with a 4.5" lift who uses his E-disco with no issues

Sure - if your rig came with it from the plant, then great (ie.,Rubi or pkg option). However, someone without it who is considering a purchase and install... no way.

As for the level ground; there's nothing saying that you need to reconnect the minute your done wheeling. A close parking lot will easily suffice. I've done mine many times on ground that is not quite level and its just a matter of my 100lb fiance standing on a door sill to even it out.

hmmmm... I have never had any problem at all disconnecting, even on un-level ground. Re-connecting has been an issue a couple times due to un-level ground, but just moving forward or backwards a foot or two has always cured that

really? I wonder whats going on then. If im not level pulling the bolt out is damn near impossible and i have to get someone to push down on one side of the Jeep.

If you're talking about the stock swaybar links- I always found those bolt a bit of a pita to get out, even on level surface. Usually had to whack it a few times to get it to pop out.

With the JKS's disco's, they pop right off. It has changed my prep time from 10 minutes to a couple minutes Last time out, there was another JK owner that had the stock links. I was finished with mine, and standing there watching him undo-ing his first one Likewise at the end of the day, I was done and standing there watching him still hooking up his first. Afterwards, he says "OK, I'm sold! Where do I buy those damn things"

I had the JKS ones on my TJ and worked pretty well. I ended up bending one beyond repair and went the the Rubicon Express Gen 2 and I actually preferred them better. I know they make a Gen 2 for the JK, but I think they are for lifted and not stock height. Just another option.

Actually- with the JKS's for the JK, you remove them completely. So there is no chance of bending them. Pull the pins, remove the link, toss in the back of the Jeep, and then "tie up" the swaybar

That is definatley a better design than the TJ version. If i remember correctly they swung up and you pinned them up. I lost a pin on one of mine and it was dangling down and got beat up pretty bad.
