Straitening Steering Wheel

i have a 2007 JK wrangler x and it was in small accident a while back but i noticed the steering wheel is upside down when the wheels are completely straight..and when the key is out it locks in that spot too. i have read many other forms on trying to adjust when you do LIFTS but as mine is stock, i tried to move the drag link turnbuckle that other people have said to adjust..im stuck still it didn't work..any suggestions would be greatly appreciated . would taking the steering wheel off and putting it on right side up be an option? new to owning a jk only a few months

Something is bent. Did you have it fixed after the accident?

Not yet, I am actually about to replace the drag link/center link and tie rods.. The drag link looked bent anyways.. But as I'm looking at pitman arms online.. That may be bent too so I'm gonna probably replace that ..and then possibly see if that is what caused the whole thing to happen.

Then do not take off the steering wheel. Replace the bent parts, then get and alignment.

This right here. Do not remove the steering wheel. I've attached a picture of the pitman arm with the wheels pointing straight. It will be clocked to the left with everything centered.

Awesome, yeah I actually messed with the drag link and I was able to straighten the wheel.. Pitman arm looks just like that.. For now, the esp bas turned off as I was driving around too , still need to get it replaced next week but for it's nice to have the wheel straight.. That was annoying but when I get the parts in I'll obviously have to re do the steering wheel and going to get it aligned and what not.

If you straighten the steering wheel - doesn't that make it a handlebar?
