I just bought a 2010 Unlimited, I believe the stock gears a 3.21 (correct me if that doesnt sound right) but i think thats what the window sticker said. Its an automatic if that helps. I've been reading all over this forum about tires and what will fit with no lift kit. I'm looking at going to 31" tires maybe a bit bigger, simular to what the rubicon comes with stock. But will that have any effect with the 3.21 gears? Another note to add, This is my daily driver and only sees dirt trails/ old fire roads and the ocassional mud holes a few time a year when I go Rock climbing at Red River Gorge Kentucky. Thats me rock climbing not the Jeep!
Those tires are for people that'll never run off road, or the base base model. The wheels are quite possibly the ugliest things I ever seen.

Mango Tango 2010 JK Wrangler Rubicon
Silver 2000 TJ Wrangler Sport
The 2008 Jeep Wrangler is not so much an SUV as it is an experience. It's slow and loud, handles poorly, has crummy interior materials and features doors that provide virtually no crash protection. But when it comes to off-road performance, the Wrangler is simply the best choice available.
For your automatic, your stock 3.73 will be perfect for 32" oem tires. Just get Rubicon take off rim/tire set for half the price of new rims and tires. You can always change gears years down the road if you dont like it.
