jigsaw.....sawzall woulda been a mess since i did it with no help and i was gonna use a cut off wheel on my air compressor but figured it'd just make the edges more of a hassle to clean up.....worked great...think i spent 45 minutes total from start to finish.

I left them on the jeep the whole time, measured from the outside of the fender inwards and just marked something like 5 inches at multiple points on the front fenders then used masking tape and made the cut line on both flares, checked em out to make sure they were perfect then cut. any slight wavyness dissapeared when i put on the trim, as for the rears all i cut off was the lip so i just did it by eye using the line of the curve.
