Stereo replacement and Sirius?

I'm going to try and get the RES stereo in our JK replaced in an attempt to fix the iPod not working (see thread earlier) but I'm wondering what happens to the year of free Sirius when it's replaced under warranty? The new stereo will obviously have a new Sirius ESN. The Sirius was already activated when we got the car from the dealer, so I'm not sure what the deal is - anyone know how this works?

Thanks

I posted somewhere about having a ***** of a time getting my 1 year Serius transfered from my RES to a RER I bought on E-bay. 2 people at Sirius said no, I called again to another number at Sirius that was for new customers, and they x-fered it for $15. Good luck...

Sirius sucks at customer service. Out-sourcing at it's finest.

You haven't bought anything from them yet, so they will likely transfer it 1 time for free. Once they have your money, they will want $15 to do it.

I did not want to get all racist, but the first 2 people I was talking to were definitely out-sourcees. The person I that switched my script over sounded like she was from the South. The guys that wouldn't help me, kept saying my free script was not transferable, and I hadn't bought anything. I said I paid the dealership and they paid you guys, they would not budge. I will prolly not renew just becouse of the customer service...

My experience was very positive. When I installed my REN I got off ebay, I simply called Sirius while sitting in the car. They talked me through getting the radio's ID, and as I watched they activated it and downloaded whatever it is they do. They then took the old radio off my account. She even waived the fee. All took about 10 minutes and I was set. Brilliant!
