No they should not be used to hide suspension issues. Many places will try to sell you an expensive one to "correct" an issue but it just hides it while the real issue gets worse. they do have a place, to dampen road imperfections and a cheapo stock one is good enough.

Still using the stock SS with 37s and 3.5" lift. It works fine
