spent the weekend in Rescue Green Sahara Unlimited

A dealer here in KY (actually over the river in IN) got a rescue green one in, and I took it last night overnight as I was thinking of taking it home.

Personally, I liked the color. The Mrs thought it looked like puke. Different strokes...

It wasn't enough for her to not want me to get it and gave me the OK, but the dealer would not honor the affiliate price on it, and asked that she order me one instead. I got the 1% under invoice price BUT....

She added in $465 in advertising charges. Is that some crap, or MUST the dealers put it in on a FFP?

Attached are some pics. The size is absolutely perfect, not to big, but plenty of room. The thing is a bit if a dog, but I am used to some higher HP cars. The back seats folder down SO EASY - BEST FEATURE ON THE UNLIMITED IMO.

The thing does have a little more plastic than I would have liked, but I think all newer cars are going that way. The freedom top was great. Piece of cake to take out the sunroof pieces.

The net is, I got the dealer to take one of their current allocation and change the options for me to make mine. I should have it in 2-4 weeks. Jeep Green with every avail option except smokers pkg.

Here are some pics of the Rescue on from today...

great pics only one concern

I ordered my Sahara today, one thing I really want to change is how the rims/wheels look a little tucked under the flares. I love the flush with flare or hair outside flare look like the 06 Rubi....... wondering how I can get that. I was thinking some wheel spacers and larger tire like 33's etc... but have heard mixed revies about wheel spacers etc... Thoughts anyone? I am NOT able to oder the rubi rim and tire package on the sahara which is such a let down... Thanks

even the 18's I feel could fit better...... just my thoughts...

great pics and congats on the new RIG!

How do the sunroof pieces attach and remove? Just undo the windshield latch and untuck the backside?

I suspect that the new black flares are going to look uber crappy when they fade, so those Sahara body colored ones are the ticket.

The green is, ahhh, well, interesting.

mild lift, better wheels/tires and do something about that front bumper and I think we have a winner.

There's 2 large screws with a handle that goes through the sound bar into the sunroofs, then about 4 latches and the windshield latch. The best thing is that you can remove the rear/main roof, and leave the front pieces on, like a hard bikini top.

I agree, the tires suck, I don't like the green either, but I know a salesman that thinks this is the best color
Mine is black, and people think it has a mafia look to it!
The dark green is a nice color though!
