Special order timetable

I'm in the process of looking/buying a 2014 amp'd jku. Just curious, for all you guys who did special order, how long did it take to get your jeep?
The salesman said ballpark would be 8-10 weeks.

Mine has been on order for about 3-1/2 weeks so far. I was told 6-8 weeks. I was notified that the production order has been processed and the next email I get will be when the frame is done. The dealer said it will move quickly once that happens.

Has anyone seen the Willys wheeler edition?
Do the special editions take longer?

I'm going on Friday to order mine, I've never owned anything that new so it's a little exciting.

How much down do you put on a special order typically, and is it refundable or does the dealer have you over a barrel at that point on the price.

You should agree to a price before placing the order - at the dealership I deal with - they require a $100.00 deposit on an order - unless you are ordering something that they think is out of the ordinary and they will have a difficult time selling if you back out of the deal - then they require a 5% deposit. I am told that is very very rare, like just a few years ago when you could order a wrangler X with a 4 cyl and no air. NOT something the dealer wanted to get stuck with. When I ordered my 13 JKU Rubicon they asked for $100.00 and it took 4 weeks from order to delivery.

Thanks, I think I'm going to have to go this route with my wife, I can't find one with her desires at all.

My dad has ordered 2 jeeps and never had to pay anything until the day it arrived. It's handy getting that extra month because he could save more money to put on a down payment when it arrived.
