spare tire covers - yes or no

Just curious. Do you use a spare tire cover? I am trying to decide. Since I am doing a 5 tire rotation, my spare will look a little worn.

I use mine in the winter time to keep all the crap off it. I will take it off in the spring. I like the look without the cover

Nope. I prefer the look without a cover. Plus, living in Southern California, I don't have much weather to protect the spare from anyway.

I prefer the look without a cover - but use a cover for at least two reasons:

a). People are less likely to steal what they cannot see.
b). Keep off winter snow and ice - makes it easier to use if I need it.

However, since upgrading my tires, my stock tire cover no longer fits, so I have to get a bigger one.

Never used to but the new JK came with one that has a big American Flag on it. Decided to keep it on.

Cover up my spare? No way. It's usually the cleanest part of my Jeep.

I just got my JK this week, so I don't have a cover for it. I like the look without a cover than with, but if I need to get a cover for it I will get one that advertises my personal company or websites (custom cover).

Is there a reason to cover it, or things to think about when not covering it (care, etc)?

No cover here. When I had my 95 YJ, I had one on for a short time. I ended up pulling it off because it ended up being a place for lots of spiders to live. I also prefer the looks without the cover.

I have one on both my Jeeps, but then again neither one of my spares match my other 4 wheels (though I will change that on the JK soon). I agree that if all 5 wheels match, it looks better without one.

I'm actually making those Sahara covers. I just sold out of my last batch and will have more done in about 2-3 weeks. Here are a few other pics from happy customers on eBay!

I don't have a picture but I got one of those "Sahara" tire covers from JoiseyJeff and it's excellent! The quality of material and the quality of the graphic is first rate. It looks really sharp on my black two-door JK Sahara. I have gotten several compliments. (from family members, service technicians at the dealership, and passersby in a parking lot!) I'm afraid that it might get stolen when I park it or take it in for service!
