Sound behind the glove box
Well, I finally got out of town for a trip to visit family the other day. After I got back to town though, I got some gas and went to meet with friends. After being with them for a while, after I turned the ignition there was a fluid rushing sound behind behind the glove box...It mainly happens after the jeep has been sitting for 30+ minutes. If I turn it off then back on, its not necessarily a liquid sound, but more like air flowing. The sound only lasts a second or two...

It doesn't affect driving, or anything. I'm just concerned that this could lead to another failure if not taken care of asap.

I called the local stealership in hopes of them checking it out tomorrow, but my hopes aren't too high with them...A coworker of mine is a mechanic and if I can pick his brain about it, I will, but I thought it would be worth posting here too.

Thanks everyone

Take out your glovebox and take a look. That is where the fan unit is located at...

Wel, I took it to the local jeep dealer...As I thought, they were no help...They said "we think we found the problem" but refused to say what the problem was until I agreed to pay. Eventually they told me it would be around $900 for what they thought could be it...

When I got in the jeep I noticed they had the controls set to blast heat and recirculate...Am I correct in leaning toward thinking it is a heater core? Or A thermostat issue?

All in all, it's still a sound of liquid rushing/gurgling (a few seconds) on start up...Should I be extremely cautious with this, or is it safe to assume it isn't as bad as $900 can be at a dealer?

Might be air in the system.

The time now is 10:01 PM.
