So, I'm sitting at the counter at Trailercraft, getting horrible service - and a guy comes up to me and says "is that your jeep out there?" I'm used to this by now - and I said, "yeah, that's mine" and he says, "well, I just backed into it" - and I was like, "well - sheeeiit". So, we go out to take a look.
I look pretty closely - all I can see is that the mesh metal (AEV bumper) is a little dented. Of course, to get that piece off, you have to take off the whole damned bumper - which is a real chore. I thought about it, and said - "well, it's a Jeep ya know. You have a nice day" and shook his hand, complimented him for being honest about it and went back to the store. He was shocked. On the way back into the store, I noticed his rear bumper. It's all ****ed up. Chalk another one up to solid steel bumpers.
So now I have been tapped into on the front and the rear - significant damage to the enemy vehicles, virtually nothing to the Jeep. This is why I advocate replacement bumpers before doing much of anything else. Gotta have that urban armour.

I'm not sure if that pic is big enough. Can you expand that a little so I can see what color the bugs eyes were that is stuck in the grate?

You should be more careful where you park! Atleast he didn't back into your scooter, that would have been a mess.
Good for you not being an *** about such a small dent. I'm sure the offender will remember that forever!
ps: That is a darn large picture!!

That happened to me before with my first scooter in Blacksburg. Long story, but I ended up suing the guy, won a big judgment - and ended up just selling in the scooter - which was fine with me because I was moving to Alaska anyway. Judge got his attention when he said that if he didn't pay, I could have his driver's license suspended. We went from the courthouse to the bank, where the sucker got a cash advance on his credit card. I gave him the scooter, but never sent him the title - his punishment for dragging out the case for 3 months and forcing me to take him to court instead of just paying up like he promised to do when it happened.

You must have a 27" monitor. My 19" get about 2/3 of the pic.

That's good that it saved you from real damage, and you're a good guy for telling him not to worry about it.
However, remember that the uber-strong bumper is a double edged sword. It saves you from parking lot fender benders, but it's also a lot harder on a car in a crash. I can picture it punching right through a Civic. A standard foam bumper is made to absorb energy in concert with crumple zones, and a Wrangler with an aftermarket steel bumper has neither.

hey
Want me to check into getting you a replacement screen? You're right, it's a job, but I'll see if I can hook you up if you're interested.
