Well i got invited to go ride witha couple buddies of mine from work and it made me remember that i needed to trim that "rub"icon rail on the rear rocker. finally got 12 consecutive hours off work so I went ahead and knocked it out. Ive seen a thread on "how to" here on this forum at one time not too long ago and went with what i remembered reading.
ok here we go. stopped by the local auto parts store and picked up somebritsh under body spray/bedliner (if u wanna call it that) and some body filler for the pinch seams. ended up having to take the rails completley off. trimmed 2 inches off the rails and i little more off the pinch seams.
went to the shop to use the lift bc it was raining and i needed to work standing bc i had knee surgery not too long ago.
sprayed the fender wells, and the pinch seam after the filler dried. also was able to reuse the end caps on the rails. they fit snug but i put some filler to hold it in place for good measure. one of the discs on the grinder exploded on me....that was scary. so 3 cutting disc later i got the job done.
they arent in chronological order, having problems seeing an uploading pics tonight but you get the idea. now i can load the jeep down with gear and it not rub. and dont worry. the tire doesnt come close to that pinch seem...the axle moves back and bump stops stop it bf it hits
btw i had my radio blasting in the jeep for the whole 3 hours....drained my battery. on initial start up the voltage light and check engine light appeared. Thanks to the Procal i ran my jeep at 1500 rpms for a few minutes to help give it a charge and reset the check engine light. I love this little investment. i really need a new battery tho.
