Any one have opinions on the aev roof rack? Seems to be pretty clean looking anf the only one im able to ship usps bc of the way it is assembled and boxed. Im still confused how it mounts to the rails through the hard top. We talking about cuting holes in my top?

Its like christmas today. Northridge even sent me a coozie. Used the procal already. Just adjusted shift points to tire ratio. After measuring the tires out they are exactly 35". With 12k miles on them...makes me wonder if they were 35.5" when they were new. My transmission finally isnt hunting for gears. Feels like a small regear but its not. Atleast i dont hafto drive around with overdrive off anymore. The idle up option is nice for when i do hafta actually use my winch. Which reminds me..i still have the original battery in my jeep. Surprised its still kickin after all these years. Thats definatly do for a change. Wanted to go for an optima but i havent heard good things about them since they m9ved thier production to mexico. I know the redtop in my 96 zj had to be replaced after 3 days...thats a whole nother story though. Fender flares next....stay tuned

You have to drill 8 holes (two at each corner) through the hard top. There are brackets that attach to the roll cage at four corners and thatís what the rack is bolted too.

I wouldnt wish this install on my worst enemy. Too tedious for my blood. Its something i would defiNtly pay a shop to do if i was to do it over. Oh well. We had fun. Beer and wrenchs are allmways a good time. Started at 730pm and finished up at 0130. Yea it took that long. Here is some progression. Ill post aome complete pics up tommorow in the daylight.

here are some daylight pictures...they didnt quite turn out as perfect as I wanted. they arent quite flush with the rubber seal and the body but you wont see it unless your looking for it. Id halfto take them back off and trim the 1/8th of an inch off the fenders. i feel like the jeep sits higher but i think i need about 1 more inch of lift. or a body lift.

Overall im impressed. pretty solid product. I wouldnt recommend installing yourself unless you have a whole day and alot of patience dedicated to it. looks much better than stock IMO.
