Signs of Bad Water Pump

What are the signs/symptoms of a bad water pump?

Weeping fluid under the pump in the area of the shaft bearing; noise from the pump when it's running; wobbling pulley when you check it with belt tension removed; continued overheating when you have eliminated other causes; (to name a few).

With the engine off, try to rock the water pump pulley from side to side...if it moves, the bearings are worn out. Overheating of the engine (duh) and leaking from the pump.

If there's a leak at the bottom (lower left), then the pump may be OK, but the gasket is failing at the two lower 10mm bolts--

If not that, then the above post info is righton-
