SickBoy357 JK build

So I'm new to this forum and have been reading VooDooJK and Molshove bulid threads and thaught theyre really cool. Since I'm starting to build my jeep I thought i'd be cool to do something similar. It's awesome to see stock jeeps transform into *****en machines!!! My metal skills are no where as avdvanced as VooDoojk's but I'm going to give it a shot makeing bumpers amd some rocker bars. So I will be posting as I go along with my build. One things for sure it will take some time with all the plans I got!!! This is my 2010 JK Sport when it was bone stock.

So first things first. My big picture plan is to put the Rock Krawler 5.5" X Factor Long Arm kit on for the suspension, But with money being the issue I'm going to do a small lift for now just to get it more functional while I save more coin. So I got a RC 2.5" kit to start with. The wheels I ordered were out of stock so I put some used 33s and some wheel spacers on to get me by till the new wheels and tires show up.

So this is how she came out with 2.5" lift and 33" tires. Not much, but its a start!

Next I wanted to start on the front bumper. I searched all the threads for what mods you could do with the stock bumper and came up with this. I used the center metal section thats behind all the factory plastic bumper, and cut it down to the width of the frame rails. I then cut out some sheet metal to make a skid down to the cross member.

After this first part of the front bumper build, I threw some paint on it just to protect the metal till I had more time to continue on fabricating the stinger. Next I wanted to trim my stock fenders, mainly just to get rid of some more plastic. No offense to anyone out there that loves all the stock JK plastic, But it drives me a little crazy. The less plastic the better on this jeep.

Next up I went back to the front bumper and bent up a stinger for it. I didn't get many pics of this but will take more. I was super bummed out on how the tube of the stinger turned out. I was being cheap and trying to improvise because I didn't have the right size die for my tube bender, and the tube kinked a little right at the last part of the bend. My plan now is to plate in the front of the stinger when I get some time to hide my mistake a little.

I got the time next to go back to the front stinger I botched on the bend. I cut some plate and boxed in the front tip. I thinked it turned out better. Atleast it covers my kink and I dont have to stare at it anymore While I'm driving. HAHA!!!!

Well the last two trips out on the trail, I've smacked my rockers so I figured that was the next thing of importance to build. I was having some trouble trying to figure out how to make a good mounting bracket for them, and since the straight part of the 2 door frame is so short, they're not quite as long as I wanted them to be. Eventially I plan to put Poision Spiders rocker protection on it.

Nice build. Your jeep looks super clean and has nice lines. You got some welding skills I see, as well...Lol. What size tires would you go with when you get a 5.5 inch lift? Any axle upgrades as well...i.e. front axle?

Looks good, I like your fab skills. I just need a welder to fab up some of my own parts.

So today at work I was reading VOODOOJK's build on the rear bumper, and think that bumper looks so damn awesome. Sorry VOODOOJK but I'm going to try building one your style. I plan on changing some little things just so it's not a total copy, but that thing is BAD ***!!!! Love the tight lines around the side of the tub. So a little motivation and I got started.

Thanks, When I get the 5.5" kit I'm going to bump up to 37s or 38s. I got the sleeve and gusset kit so far. I'm going to run this Dana 30 till I have trouble, in the mean time I'm keeping my eyes open for a 44 upgrade!!!
