What part of AZ is that near? I'm over in El Paso and I'd like to go take a trip like that. Was it an all day thing or more than one day?

the trip is a back road that goes from mammoth, az to the aravaipa canyon wilderness. with a small quick moving convoy it can be a day trip. we did it as a slow moving day trip over the mountains, then camped out an played in the wilderness before heading back home the easy way out.

here's the gps tracks:

I tried to get my wife to shoot some video of our JK on a trail this weekend. I found out she's not very good at it. My son helped me make a quick video using iMovie to pick on her about it a little.

Rig looks great on the trail. The video is funny. They do like to panic. My wife gets out of the Jeep on every challenging part, and I pick her up a few yards up the trail. At least she is out there, I guess. LOL

Thanks. I am only half way seriously complaining. It is awesome to have a family that always wants to join me. I still have to crack up that year after year it's like the first time she's ever been on a trail.

My weakness is shelf roads! And worse is shelf roads with snow!

I think that is a weakness for most of us. I am not a fan of declines and drop-offs; would much rather climb stuff. I experienced an engine shutdown, due to fuel starvation, on a long, steep, muddy decline. Not a good feeling at all. Engine wouldn't restart until I bobsledded to the bottom. White-knuckled that portion of the trail.
