shocks clanking sound

Hello,

Twice now I had a situation where I was getting a clanking sound out of the front suspension. The second time the dealer pointed out that the 'rubber' busing on the top of the shock was missing. They believe it is being smashed and broken because of the 2.5" bb. This seems likely but odd that nobody here has reported such a thing (at least not that I can find via search). Now the rear started doing it.

I did not replace the shocks when the BB was installed; I guess I need to get longer shocks, but what length? I don't want any more lift if it can be helped. ...or is there a stronger replacement bushing?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Same here... Just got Bilstiens shocks for a 2.5" lift plus steering stabilser. Will report back when I get this stuff installed.

If you use shock extensions or longer shocks you must also check the full up travel of the suspension and add bump-stop extensions that will prevent the shocks from fully compressing.
If you have not added any extension to the shocks when you add lift they will over extend thus destroying the shocks or their mounts.
Checking the full travel of the suspension after any modifications are made is very important!
Addressing any noises, thump's, or other odd feelings, as soon as they are noticed is also very important!
