Yeah - thumbs up!

It's fairly understated for a show vehicle - which I like. The mono look works too.

It occurs to me that the success of the JK series may doom a future launch of a CRD Wrangler. In short, Jeep will have no incentive to offer engine options if sales remain strong with the current 3.8 engine.

Looks good except for the brown leather seats and steering wheel cover. In a silver Jeep, black or charcoal gray would have looked better.

If the 3.8 drives as well as the 4.0 in your TJ, then what's the big deal?

Even back in the CJ days, the AMC V8 didn't have a whole lot more power... and the carb was temperamental, having problems on angles and in cold weather. Problems the 3.8 certainly isn't going to have.

And lets think about our other options.
  • H3? I-5. No thanks.
  • FJ? V6, okay, but poor visibility, no removable top or doors. No thanks.
  • Fullsize pickup? Sure you get a V8, but you also get IFS unless you go 3/4-ton or bigger from some makes, IFS for all models with other makes. No thanks.
  • Mid-size pickup? Back to a V6, and IFS. No thanks.
