Rugged Ridge bumpers anyone??

Hi everyone

I'm looking for first hand opinions on Rugged Ridge's JK front and rear HD bumpers. I really like the looks, so i'd be happy to know if fit & finish, rustproofing and strength are in the same league with ARB and WARN bumpers.

Any help will be great

Mike

I have my RR bumpers installed since fall last year...I do see some oxidation on the washers and the D link bolts..I haven't seen any rust yet.. The oxidation is combination of inferior plating of this "Made in China" hardware and the Galvanic effect between the bumper and the cheap hardware...
These fasteners will not pass any "rigid" automotive salt-spray requirements..

However, I still like my RR set up and will take care of these oxidation issues "one spray can at a time"

I had the front with a Stinger for awhile and it held up just fine and was a heck of a lot cheaper than the other brands!

For the price they are amazing. The fit is very good, everything lines up correctly. The finish is ok. Mine at least is hard to clean, kind of like the fenders. If you let mud sit on them for a little while it will take some scrubbing to get the brown off. Other then that my only complaint is that 4WP dropped the box it came in a few times and bent the little fog lamp bolts pretty bad, but I mounted my own lamps that don't use them any way...

for the price, you can't beat them.

My wife has the front, and I have the rear.

I have a Shrockworks bumper on front. And can tell you the powder coating on the Shrockworks is a whole lot more durable than that on the RR. You get what you pay for, and RR has cut some corners here and there, like the powder coat and the thickness of the metal. But regardless, I am still happy with the bumpers.

Does the rear bumper work ok with the stock hitch receiver? I was looking at those as well. As it is I want to buy the stock receiver to replace my stock hook that I have on back and I need a rear bumper that will work fine with that setup.

Yes it will....Be sure you have the stock hook switched with the receiver PRIOR to installing the new RR rear bumper..(I learned this the hard way... )

This is my set up.. The stinger will sting those who like to "bump" me..I hope this will avoid damage to the tailgate and spare carrier..

Thanks for replies

Here in Greece, they are not any cheaper than ARB or Warn bumpers.
That's the reason i asked, because they're in the same price band, (and beacause they look awesome, IMO), if they are comparable in quality.

I just picked up the tube rear bumper with hitch brand new(stickers and all) from someone off craigslist for $100.00. I think it looks great and am hoping that this will be a perfect tow point for the rear of my rig. I will be installing tomorrow. I'll let everyone know how it goes. From the reviews that are on here I am thinking i got a good deal on it thats for sure.
