Rubicon express lift question

I have a chance to buy a rubicon express lift 4.5" long arm lift for a $500. It is missing all the coil springs and the crossmember. Would you buy this?

I won't be able to get the extra parts for a while. How hard are these lifts to install or are there extra stuff I need?

The crossmember is where the front arms mount. Custom brackets are required for the rear arms. Sounds like you are only getting the long arms for $500. Not a bad deal, they run over $200 a piece. Sometines the spares can be found. Make sure you are getting the full lower and smaller upper (it attaches to the lower arm). The stickler may be the frame mount for the rear arms. I do not think I have seen them offered anywhere.

I have a 4.5" long arm on the missus' 09.

NOTE: The install is not for the faint of heart. It took me 4 days to install the lift. You can get the directions on line, maybe at Quadratech.

Not worth it. Long arms on a JK are a gimmick IMO

JKs come from the factory with mid arms. The money spent on long arms vs the gain in specific performance attributed to a longer control arm is not worth it. The same principles from a TJ don't apply to a JK

I'd agree with Spyder on anything under 3/3.5". After that, long arms are needed. Especially on a 2DR.

I disagree fully, and wheelbase as nothing to do with the angle of your control arms.

Control arm length dictates driveline placement, and pinion angle, too.

Left to right. first two arms are the fronts. Need the crossmember to mount those. The outside mounts for the rears on laying on them. There is a plate that goes on the backside of the frame and then a couple of threaded slugs go between them. Next are the rear arms. Then the tracbars, swaybar links, and shocks.
