seat latches

I installed one of these in my '12 2 dr sport last night. No problems with the cut out, but am having an issue with the rear latches on the fold and tumble rear seat not engaging now. Both sets of loops are recessed in the floor.

The seat is secure in the "tumble" position and the front hooks appear to be properly attached. Everything on the rear lines up and the rear hooks go over the loops correctly, they just don't engage and snap close. Almost like the seat isn't going down far enough to trigger the spring mechanism.

I installed it over the carpet (protecting the carpet being the whole point). Are the tolerances really that close? Anyone else had this issue?

Any Suggestions (already pushed down on the back of the seat, pulled back on the seat strap, disengaged the seat and reset it, just about everything short of climbing onto the actual seat and jumping up and down).
