Rough County 2.2 Shocks

I have the RC Series II Kit 2.5 install and need to upgrade the shocks, RC is recommending the RC 2.2. Anyone with these shocks could give me some input would be great.

Thanks
Bill

Guys with 4 doors seem to like them.

A good percentage of 2 door owners say they are too stiff.

Do you lean towards wanting a soft or a firm ride?

I like them on my 4-door but they are a little stiffer than stock. Not much but a little...

X2... I have a 4dr- not much difference from stock, just a tad stiffer. But not really noticable.

I would like a ride on road about the same as stock. But offroading could be stiffer.

Well- on road, the first time you drive it you will be thinking "is it stiffer, or am I just imagining it is". Yeah- it is barely noticeable. After 2 days, you'll never even notice.

Yep, I have been running them for about 9000 miles now and they have not softened up much at all after the initial wear in... I guess that means that they are pretty sturdy over time...

The one thing I like about these shocks is the replacement cost. I busted the hell out of one on the trail and when I needed a spare it was $35 shipped to WA state (granted that was with a military discount, but they also do a forum discount as well.) Not that I plan on continuing to bash up $35 shocks, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper than replacing a $70 or $100 shock.

I have the RC nitro's on the front and they seem to be about the same as stock. Put Skyjackers on the back and they make for a really hard ride on the road. For a DD, I'd go with the RC.
