Retro look

Has anyone put old school looks on a new jk. I have seen some 80's decals on new jk's and it looks good. Dose anyone have pictures

I posed this question awhile back, the idea was not well received!:fear:

hear is a quick photoshop I did of the general idea

I still think there would be a good market for an aftermarket, retro decal set for the JK's

I think it's your color combo and the white hardtop. bleh.

Should do a classic islander

Yea. Those are great ideas. There is a post in the post your jk pics of a jk that did a grill like a old Willys and a raised good that looked really good.

Looks alright to me, if the price was right. Not something every one and their brother would have.

I donít know itís not looking too appealing to me. Perhaps dump the white top and wheels and change the color blue to a shade of grey.:dunno:
:cheers2:

I know beauty is a subjective matter of taste, but are any of y'all old enough to remember what the originals looked like?

I think it looks great! You got the decals just right. It's just as I remember how they used to look.

I especially liked the "LEVI'S" wrangler. Neat marketing idea!

I like the old renegade decals from the 80's. are there any special editions they made in those years. I know they had the scrambler also. Here are a few I think you could make look good on a new jk

these guys do OEM jeep graphics- see if they can tailor one to a jk. I like your idea, although not on a black jeep. A little too dark of a color if youre going retro, imo. Love the white top/rims, though.

First thing i drove was a 76 levis edition cj actually in the 70s...those stripes would never come off during wheeling.

I only chose those colors because they were the first two Google images to show up when I searched that were the same (both side shots from a dealership)- I chose the white just to show the difference

I'd love to see different colors as well- I did this mock-up in a few minutes on MS paint- if someone is better than me with photoshop (and I don't see how they couldn't be ;)) I'd like to see it changed too

thanks! I wonder what it'd cost to do a mock-up set of graphics? the HT's start white already, easily painted, and around here, you can get the stock 16" steel wheels on CL almost for free (under $100 for a set of 5)... I've been very tempted to grab a set, rattle can them white, add the lip pinstripe, and have the caps powdercoated chrome.

IMHO- this is one of the best looking Jeep CJ's I've EVER seen, and I think you could emulate it with a JK nicely
