Quadratec JK Arm Rest

Quadratec is now offering an arm rest for the JK's ( #55013.610 ) for $45.It comes in three finishes including a black/grey combination that looks like it will best match the interior .It comes with a metal bracket that attaches using the existing screw holes on the sides of the exisiting console cover located between the front seats. No drilling is required--just take out the existing screws; place the bracket over the screw holes and put the supplied longer screws to fasten the bracket to the console.

Has anyone actually bought and installed the arm rest. From the pictures shown on the Quadratec web site looks like it might be a useful accessory.

Interested in your opinions.

Thanks

JK Gerald

I have wanted this since I have seen it, but need to know how much does it really put on the factory arm rest. Im 6'2" with longer arms than normal and have no major problems with the current but would like the cushion of the rest.

Looks rather cheesy to me, especially with that big green ugly quadratec logo.

I like how it mounts though. I might buy a kit just to get the mounting bracket, so I can put something else there.

Nothing that a black Sharpie can't sure if it really bothers you!

Yeah - it's enough to keep me from buying it.

I understand about logos and branding and advertising and such - but you know, a LOT of people sell stuff without putting a big prominent logo right smack in the middle of it. No reason why they couldn't put it on the backside, so that only the rear passengers have to look at it.

Does it provide any additional storage?

The quadratec Arm Rest is made by a company called OMIX ( 770/614-6101).They sell the same unit as product 13107.XX JK Center Console Arm which does not have the Quadratec Logo. They only sell thru distributors but at the same price as Quadratec--They market the product under the Rugged Ridge family. They did give me the name of a MA. distributor named Elias Four Wheel Drive Center ( 978/597-8432) but they have distributors all over the country. They provide the arm rest in the same 3 finishes as Quadratec but I still think the grey/black comb is the best match for the JK--the other two finishes are grey; black.

Hope this info is useful

Are you still able to open the center-console?

Just bought one thinking of flipping it around so that the logo is facing the back, or just color it black.

The arm rest just sits on top of and is fastened to the console cover; does not add any storage space and opens with the console top cover.

The other company sells the same just in all black or gray vinyl or neoprene for $39.99 with no logo to be seen. Not sure if I can name the company on here but its pretty much the other jeep part company that I've seen most other use.

Why would you not be able to name the company? Go for it!

Just this morning I was thinking of getting the wife to make me something similar to put on top. I was thinking of using velcro to just fasten around the top of the console. If I can talk her into it I'll post some pics. Should be a lot cheaper than $40. I'll probably go with a Neoprene.
