I've got a situation I'm trying to resolve and it seems to be getting worse. Things started about a month ago when I developed a slight wobble in the front end around city (45mph) speeds after a wheeling trip. Took the Jeep to a local shop and was told to do a roadforce balance on my tires. So I did at the dealership I work at and nothing changed. Ended up redoing the balance on the tires an additional 4 tires because I was convinced it was an issue of balance. Still having a wobble.
During this time I developed a pulsing vibration at highway (65mph) speeds intensified by throttle input and a slight shaking feeling which seems to be intensified around curves.
I let it go for a while but these vibrations started to annoy me more and more so I took the Jeep to my friends shop where he specializes in Jeeps and left it with him for a few days. He checked over everything, swapped tires with another Jeep to rule out tires. Nothing was conclusive so he removed the rear driveshaft and took it our for a drive. He told me with the read driveshaft out, the vibrations seemed to go away. He also noted with the Jeep on a lift and in drive, the rear rotors/calipers had a slight wobble to them. Told me possibly a bent rear axle shaft. He recommended I try getting a new driveshaft so I recently put in an Adams 1310 driveshaft. That didn't help my problem but it did change the vibrations. They are more pronounced and the speed at which the pulsations occur seems to have increased.
I'm trying to get some ideas on where to go from here and what might be causing my issues. Mods in signature
Wobble at city speeds after wheeling trip. Tire balance didn't help. Wobble progressed to pulsing vibes at highway speeds. Told by friends shop rotors/calipers wobble. Problems seem to go away when rear driveshaft removed. Replaced rear drive shaft, didn't help.
As of now, I got the rear axle shafts replaced with new G2 shafts. They didn't make a bit of difference on anything.
I'm beginning to think something else is going on here. Something internal with maybe the transmission, torque converter etc. I've come to notice that these pulsating vibrations are only between 60 and 70mph while I'm accelerating. As soon as I let off the accelerator, the vibrations go away.
I'm at a loss here. If I had hope for anything fixing my issue, it was the axle shafts. Now I don't know where to go from here...
