Project tube doors

Started on making tube doors today.
Purchased a 12 ton hydraulic PIPE bender from harbor freight. Cheap *** tools but it is doing the job.

Making out of 1.25 inch schedule 40 galvanized pipe. Will post build pics tomorrow.

I was curious about that as well, I was always under the impression welding/cutting galv is dangerous! So be careful, but good luck! Custom projects are awesome!

The fumes from welding galvanized metal will get you sick though not fatally ill.
Brake cleaner is something that will kill you if you burn it! > http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f37/w...-life-1274041/

I guess I should be dead, I have welded a lot of galvanized products, that's what fans and whole milk are for. I have been a welder for 40 years dude....., BUT I would recommend black pipe to the in-experienced, yes it can make you feel sickly if you inhale pres. CLINTON :-),

Humm, Good too know, I use it instead of gun cleaner, on my guns, but again, I only do it outside or with exhaust fans, the fumes are really bad.

Galvanized is fine to weld with proper ventilation, good prep work and a respirator never hurts to have on. I can't count how many fence gates I've welded on and never got so much as a sniffle. All about being cautious with it.

Anyways back on topic, pics won't load on my phone but I'm curious what are you using for door latches?

Welding brake cleaner is super-toxic, lots of people suffering permanent effects from that.

The doors look good so far, lets see the finished product!!!
