A productive weekend

Well folks, had a good weekend working on the new ride, Got the AEV tire carrier, and the AEV 3.5 lift in, and back together. Hot as blazers, time for a cold beer. Thanks for all the help and input narrowing down lifts and wheels and such.
Cheers,
Richard

It took about two hours to do the carrier, and about 8 for the lift. I wasn't in a super hurry, and it was somewhere near 93 today. All in all a good day.
The ride is very similar to the stock ride, maybe a little less body roll. But I'm very happy over all.

Your Jeep looks great.
Now, to do that in less than two days you had to have some help. Considering the weather youíre having Iíll guess 7-1/2 extras.

No, no help this end. I do have a garage with some cool tools though

I installed a Skycrapper kit in my LJ a year or three aho, and this went a little smoother. Maybe because I knew what to expect. Maybe because there were none of those freakin Torx fasteners to contend with. It also seemed like the JK fasteners were easier to access, with more room for leverage.

The carrier is really good quality. Fit and fininsh is excellent. It was a little pricey, but that's what it takes to get something decent. The only gripe I have is that the wheel is not centered on the tailgate, which looks screwy with the factory" half moon" cut out on the stock bumper. I have plans to fab a bracket to move the wheel about 1 1/2" to the left. And then, way down the road, to install a pair of AEV bumpers

That is perfect, way nicer than what I had in mind. If you have the time to make another, I'd be happy to buy one. That's perfect.
