Pro Comp Hypertech programmer

So, when I bought my Jeep, it came with a Pro Comp programmer. http://www.procompusa.com/prodDetail...6297&plID=5909; new in the box, never used. I just got around to loading the program; said it loaded successfully. There is zero noticeable difference in performance. I'm timing it over the same stretch of road and it is exactly the same, before and after.

Do these things work? Should I see any difference in performance?

At this point, glad I didn't spend $200 on it.

I'm going to drive it for a little while, but if there is no improvement, I'll put the stock programming back in.

Reading the web site, it does not say anything about improved performance, just about changing some settings if you change gears or go to larger tires, etc...very similar to the AEV ProCal. If you want to try different performance settings check into something similar to the Diablo programmer or such. Some report minor performance increases, but most are just seat of the pants butt dyno stories...

Sorry, that is not a good link; I don't think they make this one anymore; couldn't find the same thing, just one that looked like it.

I'm pretty sure it is supposed to change the performance. It downloads and saves the OEM program and then installs a new one. It asks if you are using regular or premium fuel.

LMAO - Sample Tech Information - I think that says all I can say and more...dyno it before and after and see what your graph looks like.

Snake oil! What I like is more HP, Torque AND MPG. I guess they have also perfected perpetual motion.

I'm going back to OEM.
