That's because it's not a VW it's a Chrysler that someone stuck VW badges on. HAHA.

And I thought that was made in Canada?

Yeah the warranty itself isn't the issue, just the shop not wanting to do the work.

so here's an update... dropped my Jeep off last Tuesday and was told they had to order some parts and it'd be done early this week... just talked to them today apparently the parts they ordered won't be in until next friday at the earliest... i'm glad it's being taken care of but really not happy about being out of my brand new Jeep for almost a month!

^^^ If it were me I would find out exactly what parts they had to order and exactly what they are going to do to my Jeep before any work gets done. Good luck though and I hope they (parts) come in sooner than later.

can some of you guys getting head replacements get an oil analysis done at a place like Blackstone labs please? I just sent mine in and will provide results on a 6000 mile pentastar built Apr 2012, has some startup valve train clanking, using synthetic.

I just sent then an email asking for a copy of the parts manifest and everything that they are replacing... Hopefully I will get a response in writing and not a voicemail... Paper trails are great to have and hold on to .... Just in case

^^^ Good for you and I hope they respond accordingly, but I have my doubts. If no satisfaction then I would suggest that you go directly to the “service manager” at his office and request a printout of what you are seeking in your e-mail. Be polite but firm. If that’s not your cup of tea then have a family member or friend go with you who will be able to go toe to toe with the dealership.

Yea hopefully they will just be upfront with it all but we will see... Had an issue with the dealership I bought my old F-150 from, they were trying to say that my extended warranty was no longer valid but I had it in writing it was , let them know that I wanted to set a time to meet with their GM and I'd be bringing my father in law with me who happens to be an attorney here in Boise and I got a call about 15 minutes later saying that wouldn't be necessary and that it would all be covered, apparently I had an "outdated form but they would honor it for the duration of my vehicle"... Funny how things happen quicker when you mention getting an attorney involved... I will hold out hope that the Jeep dealership is better than the Ford one tho.

Update... Just got a call saying me Jeep will be done this afternoon! Somehow they got the parts faster than they thought they would but that's fine by me... I will try and post up all of the items they fixed/replaced when I pick it up and get to see the breakdown of parts etc... it'll be interesting to see if it's the same parts that others are having issues with or different ones...

Thats the info we need, a real reason why, excessive wear for whatever reason on a part, meaning, you can find out if your going to have a problem by doing an oil analysis.

I want to add from my post above, when i pulled the oil sample, it was very dirty looking for being synthetic with only 4000 miles on the oil. I've pulled oil off a BMW that had 15,000 miles on it and it looked clean, the sample out of the 3.6 looked like dark gun metal black.

Cylinder Head Replacement

I've just become victim to the engine ticking sound. Check engine light would come on then some days it would go off. And like others have stated when my check engine light came on the ECO icon would never say on, I got horrible gas mileage. So after a week of the engine light on, then off, then on again I took it to the dealer and they said they had to replace the cylinder head. I took it in today, we'll see how long it takes them. P.S. I took it to Earnhardt Chrysler Jeep in Gilbert, Az.

been following this thread a long time. i had a base 2012 once.. (and two 3.8L's) the 3.8L was a lot quieter.. and with these issues.. i was actually looking at some used 3.8L's today... blasphemy.
