Do you know the relative weights by any chance? (of the oversize tires/wheels to stock).

I want to carry mountain bikes on a spare tire mount, but that means carrying easily another 50 lbs on the spare tire mount.

I have the 4:10 gears and my jk seems to have plenty of power all through the range specially at freeway speeds actually when I had the stock tires on I rarely could use first gear because of how low it was and now it is perfect

my new tires probably weigh in around 150lbs.
for carrying my mountain bikes I use a yakima hookup carrier that goes in the reciever hitch

Yow, I'm guessing the stock factory wheels/tires are probably around the 50 lb mark?

I'd do that, but I want to retain use of the swing gate, I'm not likely to swing it open with the bikes on it but I want to make sure that I'm not going to overstress the carrier by putting an extra 70 lbs on it (2 30 lb bikes, 1 10 lb rack).

in the summer time i dont even bother with a rack . . . .but sometimes when the bike is muddy it kinda sucks . .. . .

Damn, 150 lbs per wheel??? The factory 18's were 70lbs my, and my pro comps are 80lbs ....... If that's the case I'm glad I went aluminum.
