Is it possible to put winch mount, and shackle mounts with factory bumper?

I have a 07 2dr wrangler x with the base model front bumper. I want to put a 9000pound winch on the front, but dont wanna pay $1500 bucks for a new bumper with a winch mount. Is it possible to put a winch mount on my stock bumper? and can I put the shackle mounts on my front bumper if cut out slits for the shackle mounts to fit threw?

yes to all of the above. There are some write up on mounting a winch to a stock bumper (I'm sure someone will post a link)

FWIW- you don't have to spend $1500 for a bumper. There are many very good aftermarket front bumpers under that price, some as low as $300-$400.

for details and info on our JK's, check out http://n2rock.com

I have the same Rough Country mount with D-rings on factory bumper also and it works great. I paid about $200 for mine and well worth the investment compared to buying a new $1000 +/- bumper.

A little more work, but only $30 for a Harbor Freight universal mount cut to fit and mounted upside down.

That's an interesting idea. I was thinking of getting an aluminum bumper to save weight. But this works too.
Gotta research aluminum bumpers. Ths plastic one caves in way to easily for me.

That's what I went with. Needed the stubby version because my 37's rubbed. I love the fact that I can use my factory fog lights in it. $480 (recessed winch mount)+ whatever the Bull Bar costs.

Wack as in it looks like parts are missing from the front end of a jeep. Doesnt offer much protection, any impact into anything goes directly to the tire and axle. Not sure if its a issue, Just not a fan of them.

Well, not having a bumper in front of the tire makes it easier to rock climb...or climb over the a--hole in front of you. LOL!

Lol! That does look alot better with the fenders you have on there as well as the big ol meats. I see alot that are just stock jeeps like mine and people hack the front bumper or buy a short one and i think it looks weird on a stock wrangler!
