Poison Spyder front bumper or Rugged Ridge?

Opinions on the Poison Spyder Brawler and the Rugged Ridge XHD aluminum? I like the looks of both, I've heard good things about poison spyder,
but have not heard anyone's opinions on the Rugged Ridge XHD aluminum? Anybody have these bumpers and your opinions on both. I'm going to buy one soon to mount a winch onto? Thanks. Here are pics of both.

Rugged Ridge is not a company synonymous with quality. Their bumpers do look great and they are stout, but you can expect the power coating to flake off in less than a year and you may or may not have to do a little quality control yourself before getting it installed, such as fixing holes, making sure bolts fit right, etc. Their stuff is also made in China. No, not everything out of China is complete garbage and evil, but when it comes to Jeep bumpers and armor, stick with what's made in the USA.

Well I'll probably stay away from Rugged Ridge then if the Quality ain't there then I don't really want it unless it was a lot cheaper and its not. Thanks for your opinion.

What kind of price range are you looking at? Maybe with a price range, people can suggest other options that might interest you.

To get back to your original question, what I see when comparing those two bumpers is the rugged ridge has a lot of bolt on and bolt together parts whereas the poison spyder is welded. I choose welds over bolts any day.

I'm looking at the $600 or under price range. I also found LOD signiture series shorty bumper on krawloffroad.comit looks pretty nice also.

Solid, well built and good prices (or at least they used to be). I got the PS bumper myself. If JCR had their products out at the time, I'm sure I would have went with a full set of JCR.

Just put on the exact ps bumper. Love it. Would recommend it to anyone. I agree with subatomic, jcr is also worth checkin into. I probably would of got there front and rears except I'm in Canada and am tired or dealing with customs crap and improper shipping however it may be. So I opt to go with the brawler lite, something easily gotten off my local northridge dealer.

I have the RR XHD in steel, and it's going on 3 years with no problems and no flaking.

I run PSC with lower skid, love the look and has taken plenty of abuse.

I have the Warn, (US made) and it's been rock solid. Mine's a full width, but their stubby is priced under your max...their quality speaks for itself...

I got the PS with lower skid. I have had no problems/complaints. Welds look great and I've never had an issue. Definitely recommend the PS.
