Pictures of JK at Camp Jeep

I am not sure what happened to the JK technical forum, but I am in Wisconsin (drove 18 hours), and saw the JK. These are just a few shots from behind the fence, Camp Jeep doesn't open until tomorrow. First impressions - ugly. Some good changes were made I agree, but oh well. Hopefully it'll grow on me.

Man WTF have they done to our beloved Wrangler........ That thing looks like a minivan in Wrangler clothing. Seriously, we all thought the "Milk Jug" bumper ends were bad on TJ's, now the entire bumpers and fender flares look like giant plastic pieces of ****. Damn the wrangler is ruined. Mall Rated is about all i can say for that thing. I think im gonna Hurl..... I cant believe how sissy that thing looks. Damn. If i could id buy about a dozen 06' TJ's just to stock pile them in a warehouse or something, cause the " jeep legend" is slowly dieing im afraid!

But on another note, have a great time at camp jeep, i wish i could have been there!!!!!

I've been saying the same thing. This is the first time I saw it in person. My jaw dropped when I looked at this Jeep from certain angles. Obviously, looks isn't everything... but either I'm not used to it or I'll start to like it down the road.

1. The YJ is still the best looking Jeep

2. The JK actually looks pretty good in those pics. I mean yeah the bumpers are ugly, but those usually go byebye for most offroaders anyway infavor of something better set up for what they want to do. The only thing I don't like is the even more minivan like dash than the TJ has.

if by TJ you mean CJ. then yes, you are correct.

actually, my vote has to go to the MB. cant beat its simplicity and functionality.
but the CJ is the best combo of simplicity and comforts in my opinion.

how does the windshield fold down on the JK???? i see no hinges
make that your mission to find out in the coming days of camp jeep.

oh and my only opinion on the JK thus far: (if i may quote woody-77) - I'd Wheel It

The hinge is in the center of the windshield frame... can't be on the ends anymore because of the curved windshield. You have to un-bolt 2 brackets before you can even think about lowering it.

ok, yep i see it now. thanks.

i went to the drive through in my buddies TJ and we folded the windshield down... what a PITA!!!!!!! we would've've taken my CJ if i knew how tough it was to fold down the 'shield on TJ's. it took about 15 minutes to get it down (i dont think it had ever been folded down before). takes literally 30 seconds on my CJ.

...on the bright side, i like the sloped, rounded appearance of the top of the windshield frame
