Painted Guage Cluster

Got bored so I pained the gauge cluster to match the speaker and vent trim. Got the idea from another forum. Not for everyone but I like it:

Your right when you said itís not for everyone. Although itís not something I would consider doing, I have to say that it looks like you did a professional job. It also goes well with the other trim pieces you painted.
Very nice job.

I've been waiting for a weekend to do this... Is there a how-to or some guide on how to get that piece out?

Its actually really easy. Four screws and a bunch of clips. I dunno about a writeup but I can take some pics tomorrow.

"fixed" it this morning:

Without the extra red I think it looks much better now.

Mike, here is how to dismantle the dash to get to the trim:
  1. Bottom piece is clipped on. Just pull from the bottom to remove:
  2. The second piece is also clipped on. This time start pulling from the top:
  3. Next is the first set of screws, one on each side of the steering column:
  4. Remove the outer piece:
  5. Remove the last set of screws:
  6. And the rest is just clipped on!

Looks a ton better with just the accents in red (second pic). I like it! If my jeep were any other color than silver and black, I'd repaint mine, but my cluster is already black, so it's all good.

Thanks, I agree, definitely much better w/o the red background.
