I used a 1.5" wheel spacer. a stock wheel with a 35 needs help. No problems. Over 18k and not a rattle, and yes I do wheel my Jeep.

Mine bolted right on with no special tricks. It's at a bit of an angle, but it's solid when the gate is open, or closed. I am excited to get it off o there though, if my purejeep bumper ever shows up.

hey igofshn - besides the spacer, did you need longer studs as well?

No. it was a standard ebay spacer. they already have the studs built into it.

Mine bolted right on. If the wheel has the right backspacing for the axle, it will also have the right backspacing for the tire carrier. I did not need longer studs or anything. If you are using stock wheels, then you will need a spacer, just like you need a spacer to run 35's on stock wheels on the axle.

It's just the same as it was when I had the stock tire/wheel on there.

No sag, no rattle. Closes as solid as the day I bought it.

i haven't actually tried to do it myself yet, but the mechanic that installed the lift said he tried and the tire hit both the 3rd tail light and the bumper. by the way my new tire is a 35/13.5/17 toyo open country at. i also think the tire/wheel setup probably weighs around 190 lbs. prot , are you running your stock bumper?

I also have a 35"x12.5" tire mounted on the stock wheel. It's a tight fit to compress the rubber nubbies the tire fits up against, but I want the wheel mounted as tight and solid as possible. A wheel spacer would work or I could cut the nubbies back, but I figure that would add leverage to any movement (particularly offroad) and potentially cause stress fractures in the alloy tire mount.

I cut the 3rd brake light off with a sawzall. It's not legal, but they don't check for that here during inspections.

That 13.5" width seems odd. Most 35's are 12.5" wide. For example, I'm running 315/70-17 which is a 34.3" tall, 12.5" wide. If your tire is in fact 13.5", then that may be what the problem is.
