I've been looking to trade in the 08 JK X automatic for a 6 speed rubicon. Dealer hasn't had one in the color I wanted for some time now so figured I'd just order one. I returned to the dealer today and could no longer order 10's as they were not in the computer system (and these guys let me sit right along side them and see what's available on the net). The only option I had was to order a 2011 (but they didn't have prices yet). And I'm in no binding agreement to purchase it if it does come in, but I've special ordered twice in the past and always been happy.
Now I'm starting to worry because I'm reading that they're changing up the body style *slightly* to be more aerodynamic (though I'm not finding this in other reports) and the interior is supposedly all new (like the patriot). Though I can't seem to find anything concrete on what the new 4 dr JK's will be. Most of the stuff I'm finding is comparable to this ... Second Generation: 2007+ Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Anyways, I put my special order in for the 2011 thinking it was just like the 2010 with barely noticeable changes. Anyone in the biz know for sure what might be coming around the corner? I'm going to keep on top of this one w/ special interest.

Ah, yes, the yuppie replacement for Jeep Green.
Just teasing, my JK is NGP too. I love it!
I'm anxious to see what's new with the '11 JKs!!!
Hopefully no major changes, or you'll be waiting for all of the awesome third-party stuff to be redesigned!

AFAIK, there's just a few interior changes including a Patriot-like dash.

I'm in the same boat - couldn't find just what I wanted so decided to order - 2011 Rubicon Unl. auto, hardtop only, heated leather, nav, Mango Tango. Anxiously watching for more info. Saw a note somewhere in the last few days that a 2011 Wrangler would be available from Jeep for SEMA members to have a "Measuring Session" on July 29 and photography would be allowed - so maybe there'll be some leakage after then.

He's technically right - they aren't actually available for sale now, but ordering for 2011s opened up on June 14th. My dealer ordered mine on the 16th. I sat with him and we went all thru the factory online ordering system - it listed all the options and colors available, just no prices or pictures yet. Sounds like your dealer's not very interested in ordering you a Jeep.

Funny thing, you can order one but it's like a blind date, you can't see one, the dealers have no pricing yet, but yes, they take orders.

i'll be waiting another 12-13 months for sure. The new engine is the only thing that interests me and i can wait. The sluggish automatic will be a thing of the past. And they might even add another gear to the auto.

Dude, if you think aerodynamics are going to fix the gas milage on a jeep ... LOL.
