One Man's Junk is Another Man's Treasure!

Well I found another treasure. I have this addiction that makes me want to build up Jeeps. I know its not my fault. I done quite a few CJ, YJ & TJ/LJ rebuilds and finally got a 07 X. I needed a JK to start building parts for but I didn't want to spring for a new one knowing that; one, I'm going to be ripping it apart and two, I'm going to be bashing it up wheeling!

The Jeep was $6500 and I estimate I'll spend $3-5K to get it wheelable. I'm looking forward to assembling the JK.

The Jeep arrive at my shop with front driver side damage. After surveying the damage I find I'll need the following:
  • Hood
  • Fender
  • Fender Flare
  • Radiator core support
  • Front Axle 4.10s($600)
  • Control Amrs
  • Grille
  • Inner Fender Wall
  • Front Bumper
  • Rear Tail light
  • Side and Front Marker Lamps
I already picked up used 4.10 D30 and Rubi wheels and suspension.

This is how it was delivered on Tuesday 5-25

Yesterday I dismantled the damaged Jeep. No damage to the crumple zones or subframe at all. The frame looks straight. I didn't realize/believe how paper thing the fender was. I don't believe rock sliders will support real hits if they are bolted to the rockers and fenders. I'm new to the JK world so beare with me as I learn alot!

The hardest part of this restoration will be the core support. Everything else looks easy.

Very Cool!

Does it have a Salvage Title or were you able to pick it up with Clean Paper. If so I HATE YOU!

I guess it doen't matter too much... You got a JK for what I just spent on the Down Payment on my Rubicon and I still plan to spend $2000 on my New Rubi in the next 6-12 months Not to mention all of those darn Payments.

I'd have to agree. That Jeep does not look totaled.
