Ok boys, nees opinion on JK's - JeepForum.com

Ok without boring you guys, here are the details. I'm looking at 2 JK 2dr models both are 2010 with no AC.

1st one
20000 miles, 2.5" teraflex lift 1" daystar lift with teraflex shocks. 35" tires only has soft top. All mods were done by aftermarket professional garage that deals only with Jeeps. Very professional.

2nd one

40000 miles, 4" lift, 35's and another set of winters. All tires new. Also has hard top along with soft top. All mods were apparently done by Jeep dealer.

1st Jeep is $1000 more than second one.

Please let me know your choice and reasoning behind it. Also, this will not be my DD. I will use it to have fun and maybe put 5000 miles/year on it.

Thanks in advance. And I don't have any more info on either jeep outside of what I wrote above.

i don't like to buy already modded jeeps, but i would go for the lower mileage one and have it checked out by a trusted mechanic. he should look not only for the usual, but possible off roading damage. frame bent or off center axles and signs of death wobble.

There was another Rubi 2007 with 25k miles with AC no hardtop available too with no mods for the same amount as the 4" lifted one but I'm hung up on the fact that its an 07' and the others are a 2010. I just don't want to spend the extra $$ to lift and tire it over what I'm paying.

What all mods have been done to the one with 4"?

That's the problem with the 4". The kid has no clue and only got it in November. He can't afford the gas but the 4" lift is higher than what I wanted.

I'd be very seriously considering the stock Rubi, 4.1 transfer case, 4.10 gears and D44 of the Rubi make it very interesting. I've sold my hardtops so don't care about those. Of the first two I'd go with the lower milage one. Since they did not say it had been re-geared or had the axles beefed up, expect to be paying for those.

If the first one has 3.73's and fewer miles, the second one wouldn't be a consideration if it has 3.21's. The first one has a good DD lift combo on it also. The small 2.5" suspension paired with the 1" body gives you the lift and clearance without requiring additional mods and without minimal effect on the handling. I would be concerned with what needs done or wasn't done with the 4" lift on the second one.
