Oil light flashes when hitting bumps

Recently, my 2007 has been pinging and my oil light and engine light flash. It only seems to happen if I hit a bump on the road. It doesnt stay on, just briefly flashes. I checked the oil, its fine.
About 3 months ago I ended up having to replace my engine for the second time due to oil pump issues. So this is a 2010 engine (less than 1000 miles on it) not the original. I havent even come up to the 3000 mark to change the oil.

After all the trouble I have been having lately with it, I am hoping this may just be a sensor issue? My mechanic is on vacation so havent been able to ask him yet.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks!

First off, welcome to the forum.

You say that you have already replaced two engines due to oil pump issues and now it’s happing again. You’ve got to admit that it sounds a bit fishy. Anyhow, if your oil level is in fact full then I would suspect that either it is the sensor or perhaps it has to do with the oil pick-up tube. Were these new engines or short-blocks?

Thanks!

Its very fishy, according to my mechanic. I tried to fight Chrysler since I had no warning when the first engine seized. No engine light or oil. Guy said it was a faulty oil pump?
The second engine went less than a year later. I changed the oil every 3-5k miles. Had the papers to prove it. Luckily that engine was under warranty. Mechanic that replaced this last one, said have to do every 3k on these engines.
New engine was dropped back in September, with less than a 1k miles on it. I havent even reached 2500miles on it yet. The first time I heard it, I immediately checked the oil. It was down half a quart, which I replaced. But light is still flashing. Odd that it only sounds when hitting a bump (in MA hard to avoid).

New engines.

I see what you are doing, I just need to figure out HOW you are doing it. You're trying to work your way through engines under warranty untill they put a new PentaStar in it, aren't you? Very very sneaky.....

Seriously though, sorry to hear about your troubles, glad it's all on Chrysler, and hoping you can get a permanent fix soon!

If it only happens when you hit a bump I would still say look at the oil pick-up assembly. Do you go off-roading in your Jeep? If so, do you get any oil starvation while doing so?

hahaha I really wanted to put a Hemi in it....but will have to sell a kidney for that I guess. But no, they didnt cover the first one. The second one they covered because it was less than a year and I had all the docs to prove the oil changes.

What happened to the good old days when a chick could actually change her own oil and flush her own radiator? All these new gadgets, computers, sensors and such has me lost!

Noticed a lot of threads on oil issues with new Jeep.

No, no off-roading yet. Interesting. I will have my guy take a look at it.

Thanks!
