No start P R N D lights stay on now? Help

Hey guys my '07 jeep would not start today, just a few clicks and nothing , battery voltage @ 12.8 -13.0 volts at rest and windows go up and down, radio works, everything electrical works but no start.
I did notice that the Park Reverse Neutral and Drive lights stay on the whole time.
I checked fuses and all are good .
Battery wires tight and not corroded .
Called local jeep shop and had towed .
Anybody know whats wrong ?
Has anybody has this problem before ? or something like it.
Stock everything nothing new or unusual installed at all ... factory stock
Thanks for any help in advance ...
JOSH

Put it in neutral then back into park... start Jeep...

If that doesnt work... Put Jeep in neutral... Start Jeep....

Repeat until Jeep starts.

If that doesnt work, report back.

Starter must have went out, unless the neutral safety switch is actually out and not just glitching.... Thats the only quick fix that I have heard of with the autos going out, although, I dont think it would click if it was the neutral safety switch, that sounds more like a starter going out. Hit the starter with a hammer slightly and see if that works.... Why did you have it towed before coming on here first?

Because most people don't like hitting a $25k jeep with a hammer even if you tell them too!

I'd have no problem if I paid $25k. Mine was closer to 38 when everything was said and done.

Yes and no. I wanted a new Jeep badly, sticker was 32,530. Dealer knocked off 750. It was taxes, title and all the other "Additional Charges" that did me in.

The OP is getting a click when the key is turned to start, so his problem may not be the neutral safety switch.

However....

Something to remember about the "neutral safety switch" in the JK:

There isn't one.
There is a bank of 4 switches in the transmission range sensor, inside the transmission. The computer can tell if the transmission lever is in Park or Neutral (or any other position) because the switches are in a certain on-off combination.

If the engine starts in Park and Neutral only, all is well.

If the engine starts in only Park or Neutral, but not both positions, the shift lever cable is out of adjustment.

If the engine starts in any position other than Park or Neutral, or doesn't start at all, the Transmission Range Sensor may be faulty.

Of course, this assumes not even a click when the key is turned to Start.
