New Paint - Look

Take a look at some of the work I had done. I had the top painted, a little different than usual, and added the Teraflex Rock Sliders.

I have a Rough Country Lift sitting in the garage waiting for a set of 35's. Recently purchased an IPAD, going to cut a nice custom mount for the dash.

Pics are at Democrat Point, Long Island - Surf Fishing, No Wheeling. I dont believe I can post pics, so I heres the FLICKR Link..

I was liking it until I saw the clean side view. The two back windows just donít look right. What I mean is that now that the hard top is painted the same bright color as the rest of the Jeep, the back two tinted windows look way too huge. Just doesnít seem right. Iím sure there are others that will absolutely love the look. Perhaps when you get the sliders, lift and tires on Iíll change my mind. Be sure to post pics when itís done.

It doesnt look bad. But why did you only paint the back bottom portion? What about the top of the hardtop? Not painting it?

What did they charge you to paint the top? Did they sand off the "ripple" in the factory top finish or just use a high build primer?

I've been thinking about having mine painted to reduce some of the Florida radiant heat coming through the thing.

I think yours looks nice

I'm normally not a fan of painted hard tops but that looks pretty slick. I like how the top is black.

I like it. I see nothing negative about it.
Leaving the top surface black seems like the natural way to do it.

I think every wrangler should have a color matched top. I hate that flat black

The black top kind of lends its self to utility. You don't have to worry about cargo from a rack scratching the expensive paint.

Thanks for the compliments, I am pleased with the results and receive many compliments while driving. I didn't think the full painted top would go well with the black fenders, and I have always liked the "floating roof" idea. The teraflex sliders finished it with a near factory clean look matching up well with the fenders. I wanted something that has not been done and yep, everything was sanded smooth plus a build-up primer. On a practical side I wont be worrying about a scratched roof and the overhead shot looks great.

Plans include the lift, tires, a custom roof rack, the iPad mount, and a custom snorkel. Keep an eye out for slightly different mods..

Thanks again, will post some more pics as I go.

What do you mean by custom snorkel?
